TwinStar Credit Union Gives $10,000 to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
Every child deserves a chance to have a childhood. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals help children with serious diseases live a life of hope, play, and laughter thanks to generous support from the community and donors. TwinStar Credit Union wanted to support Seattle Children’s through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals as part of their community giving initiative.
TwinStar re-launched an awareness campaign called Holiday Cheer!, giving their members the chance to help make a difference for patients at Seattle Children's. During the 2022 holiday season, TwinStar donated 3¢ every time a TwinStar Visa® credit card was used in a transaction. With the aid of the campaign, TwinStar was able to donate a maximum of $10,000. Total donations from the combined 2021 and 2022 campaign efforts are $20,000.
“We are thrilled and so grateful for TwinStar Credit Union and their generous donation – what an inspiration!” said Kira Haller, director of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals program at Seattle Children’s.
“The funds raised benefit our Uncompensated Care Fund, which provides financial assistance for families who can’t afford the cost of their care,” added Kira Haller. “Seattle Children’s cared for more than 200,000 children last year and 47% of them needed financial assistance. Because of donors like TwinStar Credit Union and their members, we can continue to provide hope, care and cures for all children in our region, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.”
“We are honored to provide another $10,000 donation to such a great cause and hope that we can provide even more support in the future,” said Laurie Kresl, Vice President of Marketing at TwinStar. “We wanted to partner with a non-profit that serves all of our market areas, and the work that Seattle Children’s does to care for children is so vital. The fact that they never turn anyone away shows how committed they are to their mission.”
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $7 billion to help children's hospitals provide the finest possible care since 1983. Seattle Children's serves the states of Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho – the largest region of any pediatric hospital in the country – with pediatric patient care and research.
